Well, it’s finally over. Today we, as a nation, have a new president elect. This was the first presidential election I’ve been a part of since I turned 18 and I must say, it felt historic. My parents and I made it a family affair and went to vote as soon as the polls opened. It was really inspiring to see the line that had already formed of people ready to cast their vote.

PR in this election was crucial to each party’s campaign. If you get on YouTube and search either candidate’s name numerous commercials pop up that are only internet based, they never aired on television. This type of campaign strategy was huge in the election because in this day and age the internet is such an important marketing tool.

Whether democrat or republican, it is easy for a person to see that each man’s campaign strategy was unique to his or her own personality and PR will play a very important role in the rest of both of their careers, one as senator and one as president.
